The Dancebase Academy & Performing Arts Story

Dancebase Academy & Performing Arts is a well established dance academy based in West Dunbartonshire. The Academy has been teaching for 11 years and is run by Principal Teacher and Founder Lindsey Donald along with her team of staff members. The academy offers professional training for students in Tap, Classical Ballet, Character, National, Modern, Song & Dance, Greek, Jazz, Acro, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Cheerleading, Pointe, Body conditioning, PBT, Vocal Coaching & Musical Theatre. The Studio is open 7 days a week offering professional training in various styles taught by Lindsey and qualified teachers. The academy also offers Exams under various association boards, Annual Shows, Competitions and opportunities to travel and perform around the world.

Lindsey is also a former Scottish Tap Ballet Modern & Song & Dance Champion where she trained at her local dance school in Dumbarton, Scottish Ballet, Real People Casting agency & Dance Studio Scotland. Lindsey also took part in pantos when she was younger such as Annie, Footloose, Dirty Dancing & Matilda in the Denny Civic Theatre, The Kings Theatre, Mitchell Theatre, the o2 Arena, GO DANCE at the Theatre Royal & Tramway.

 

Lindsey has also trained professionally for 3 years including performances all around the U.K. Dubai & China. She has also appeared on TV such as Still Game, Velvet Soup & many adverts through her casting agency such as the Irn Bru advert.

 

Over the years Lindsey’s students have successfully became Scottish, British & World Champions at TDCI, Dance World Cup & World Lyrical Dance Federation events. Her students at Dancebase have also professionally performed & competed across the world in the U.K. Las Vegas, New York, Germany, Portugal & Barcelona. Some students have successfully went on to audition for BGT , TGD & the Voice kids. Lindsey has also helped her students onto further training at professional dance colleges, Scottish Ballet, Stage Box, the Royal Ballet school, The Danish Ballet & The Hammond. The students at Dancebase Academy & Performing Arts also successfully take part in SDTA & RAD Exams passing with high distinction marks.

 

Lindsey’s dance academy was also nominated the “Best Dance & Theatre School Award” at the National Entertainment Awards 2019.

 

The academy has successfully trained Scottish British and World Champions in various styles of dance.
